Coinbase: Exchange Gets PSAN Registration in France

The next step for Europe – Coinbase, the American cryptocurrency giant, just acquired digital asset service provider registration (PSAN) in France. According to CNBC, the exchange has received approval from the Financial Markets Authority (AMF). The exchange subsequently confirmed the information directly on its X account.

With this new accreditation Coinbase is now able to offer an expanded range of services in France, including safe custody of digital assets, purchase and sale of digital assets in fiat currency, exchange of digital assets for other digital assets, as well as operation of a digital asset trading platform.

This development comes at a strategic time as the European Union is in the process of implementing MiCA regulation and Coinbase faces some regulatory hurdles across the Atlantic.

Thanks to this, France is increasingly positioned as a leading crypto hub. The adopted regulatory framework actually seems to appeal to some companies looking for a regulated market. Exchange platforms are the proof OKX and Gemini preceded Coinbase, a few days ago they both won the Holy Grail of PSAN recordings.

A trend destined to continue? We will definitely unravel all this in the coming months…
