Zipair’s first flights between Vancouver and Tokyo are already almost full

Japanese low-cost airline Zipair will offer new flights between Vancouver and Tokyo. Tickets for the first flights in March are already almost sold out.

December 26 Zipair announced the creation of an economy flight between Vancouver and Tokyo’s Narita Airport. So it offers a round trip price of around USD 942 for an economy class seat. Large companies such as Japan Airlines, of which Zipair is a subsidiary, or Air Canada generally charge more than twice that price.

The Zipair Vancouver-Tokyo flight has generated a lot of interest on social media since its announcement, with flights scheduled three days a week starting March 13.

Statistics from the Japan Tourism Agency show that the country’s tourism sector saw a significant recovery in 2023 after three years of slowdown due to the pandemic.

According to preliminary data, about 25 million people visited Japan last year, close to the 31.8 million who visited the country in 2019, a year when the country welcomed the highest number of tourists ever recorded.
